Rich Dad Poor Dad Book Review

3 mn read

For individuals looking to build wealth, this book is an all-time classic. I wanted to do the Rich Dad, Poor Dad Book Review because it’s almost a must for anyone looking to build lasting wealth. Seeing that my blog is all about investing, productivity, and wealth I had to do the review for this book.

Rich Dad, Poor Dad was the book that got me started on the wealth train. This is the book to start with for anyone interested in making the move to a more financially free life. Now let’s get to the book summary and review.

Book Summary

Rich Dad Poor Dad is Robert Kiyosaki’s story of growing up with two dads. One being, his real father and the father of his best friend, his rich dad. It is a book that teaches you about how money should work rather than how most people assume it works.

The Good

Throughout the book, he presents ways in which both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing. The book eliminates the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich. Which is the main premise of the book. From start to finish, Robert Kiyosaki explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you.

Robert advocates the importance of financial literacy, financial independence. Because of that, he believes in building wealth through investing in assets, real estate investing, starting and owning businesses. In addition to that, he believes increasing one’s financial intelligence is the most important.

The Bad

Rich Dad, Poor Dad provides a lot of great resources and knowledge to get started, but it does get a bit complicated. I say that because if you are someone that is starting out most of this book will be hard to relate to and quantify. Unless you’re already rich and have things going in the right direction. Being broke and not having money makes this book hard to follow. Robert doesn’t provide a road map on how to get to the point of achieving wealth if you are earning $15/hour. For most of the book he only provides examples of success stories, not their process.

My Thoughts

For anyone that is looking to make that financial change in their life, this is a must-read book. This is the book that got me started on my journey to financial freedom and personal wealth. Robert Kiyosaki really delivers the knowledge necessary to increase your financial intelligence. Which as mentioned earlier, and according to Robert, is the most important thing you can do to become wealthy.

Rich Dad Poor Dad Book Review

Because of that, after you read this book you will have the utmost direction on what you need to do with your money. I recommend reading this book as soon as you can get your hands on it. I totally get that I say that about every book I’ve written about, but I believe this book is a good starting point for the beginners out there. This is definitely the first book I read and it provided me the resources and knowledge to get started.
