Healthy Lifestyle Hacks for Entrepreneurs

3 mn read

Having healthy habits as a busy professional can be quite hard to keep up. I’ve been lucky enough to have found a balance between working long hours, working out, and eating healthy. Because of that, I want to be able to share those health tips with you. These are some healthy lifestyle hacks for entrepreneurs but they work just as well for any busy professional out there. These are some pretty basic hacks that I’m sure you’ve already thought about. But I want to share them with those that are still trying to find a hack for a healthy lifestyle. I wrote an article on 5 Tips for a Healthy Morning, check that out for additional tips to get your day on the right track!

Meal Prep

Meal prepping can be hard. Trust me I’ve been there. I was good for a couple of weeks and then I would always fall off. For a long time, I never got consistent. Until I started to get smart with how I was doing it. Back when I was working 100 hrs/week, I didn’t have enough time to cook so I used to eat out a lot. Which wasn’t doing anything for my health and wallet! So, I decided to think about how I could save money, eat healthily, and save time for meal prepping. Well, I directed my sights on things that were already cooked, prepared, and healthy.

For instance, I used to get rotisserie chicken, pre-made salad bags, an avocado, and some canned yams. That hit all the major food groups. You got protein, carbs, fat, and my veggies in the meal. I saved time and made multiple meals from each ingredient. I would get different variations of this, like precooked rice and canned black beans. So, next time you are meal prepping keep these hacks in mind. Find different variations you can make this happen.

I would do a similar thing for breakfast and I would just get mass gainer protein powder and make my own personal yogurt parfait. Simple ingredients and it tasted amazing! If you are looking to pay your way through this check out Freshly and Factor.

Workouts

This is slightly easier to be consistent with than meal prepping. For most people at least. For me personally, I have to work out early in the morning (usually around 5 am) I keep it consistent and I won’t budge. Occasionally I do take rest days so as to not get burned out (which is very important). Once you get burned out from waking up at 5 am you will start to avoid waking up that early. That has happened to me quite a few times over the last 10 years. So, don’t make that same mistake.

It’s good to work out hard but you need to know your body and your current limits. Making sure you are deliberate about it is important. Make a goal that’s achievable too. Like, say you’ll work out at 5 am 3 days a week. Once you get comfortable with that frequency increase over a week and month period of time. Before you know it you’ll be in the swing of things. It’s simple but difficult to implement.

Hydration

This is one of those things that you know you need to do but don’t because of a lack of awareness. I have a few hydration tips that have helped me. The first tip is, to get a Nalgene bottle or a bottle that shows you how many ounces you are drinking. It makes it easier to see how much water you drank throughout the day. Also, get sparkling water and drink those intermittently throughout the day. That helps make hydration more exciting. Because the topic of hydration is as boring as it gets.

Takeaway

Those were my healthy lifestyle hacks for entrepreneurs, hopefully, it helps you out on your journey. One thing to know is that this will still take some effort on your part. You will still drop off these hacks because I certainly did. That’s because it’s a new thing to get used to. So, don’t be discouraged if you get off track. It happens, but you have to keep trying to make it a habit. With that said, keep on track and keep learning and keep improving!
